This document event is to be used to restrict
public access to an original proof of claim which included personal
information (Bankruptcy Rule 9037). This requires an exact copy of the original with
only the personal identifiers redacted.
IMPORTANT: Each
affected case is charged a $26 redaction fee. File each amended
redacted proof of claim separately using the document event listed
in Step 5 of this procedure. Contact the court if this affects
multiple cases.
- Select
Bankruptcy menu.
- Select
Claims & Miscellaneous
Filings.
- Ensure
correct case name and number match the document you are filing.
- Select
party filer.
- Select Document Event: Restrict/Redact Public Access
to Proof of Claim (Motion)(fee) .
- Check the
box "I certify that the document I am filing is an exact
copy of the original with only the personal identifiers redacted."
- Browse,
verify and attach the redacted proof of claim (PDF file).
- Verify
filing fee.
- Select
Creditor
name and
Claim
# from list
- Verify
Claim Number and Claimant.
- Enter Proof of Claim Filed Date.
- Modify text to add pertinent information,
such as Amended,
if applicable.
- Verify final docket text
before submitting onto case docket.
- This docket entry includes the following
language in red: REDACTED
replacement proof of claim attached.
- Print
the Notice of Electronic Filing. It's your receipt.
- Ensure that Order Granting Motion to
Restrict Public Access to Proof of Claim (docket text)
is on the Notice of Electronic Filing.
- Continue with your Credit Card Payment

Review
the claims
register to identify the court-assigned claim number,
claimant name for the claim to be restricted and the
file date of the claim The claim number, claimant
name and file date will be needed when filing the document.
The attached proof of claim must
be an exact copy of the original proof of claim with only
the personal identifiers redacted.
