Filing Transaction Already Posted

When filing an event in ECF and it tells you that the transaction has already been posted, and you've looked on the docket and entry is not there.

Probably what has happened is you filed the document in the case, and then clicked on the "Back" button to get to where you could enter another case number and then filed another document.

By clicking on the "Back" button, instead of clicking on "Bankruptcy" on the ECF main menu, you're keeping the information for the last case you filed in. As long as you click on the ECF menu item instead of clicking on the "Back" button, you'll be fine.

Quick Note

Only use the "Back" button to correct a mistake on an event (document) you're in the process of filing not to change cases.

Click on the ECF menu to begin to file a new document.
