Judge/Trustee Assignment

 

 

 

Using the Case Upload option allows you to upload case data using TXT and PDF files created through a Bankruptcy Petition Software. This menu option is only used for COMPLETE filings of chapter 7 and 13 cases. ALL required documents must be available.  See Quick Note for more case upload process information.

Below is the screen instruction on how to attach the debtor's information and creditor's list using a TXT file and the Petition and its required documents using a PDF files.  Check the hyperlinks for more helpful information.

  1. Select Bankruptcy menu.
  2. Select Case Upload.
  3. Browse, verify and attach the Debtor Information (TXT File).
  4. Browse, verify and attach the Petition (PDF file).
  5. Browse, verify and attach the Creditor Matrix (TXT file).
  6. Browse, verify and attach the Chapter 13 Plan (PDF file), if applicable.
  7. Browse, verify and attach the Certificate of Credit Counseling for Debtor (PDF file.)
  8. Browse, verify and attach the Certificate of Credit Counseling for Joint Debtor (PDF file.)
  9. Browse, verify and attach the Declaration Re: Electronic Filing (CSD 1801) (PDF file.)
  10. Browse, verify and attach the Statement of Social Security Number (121) (PDF file.)
  11. Print the Notice of Electronic Filing. It's your receipt.
  12. Make note of the assigned case number.
  13. Continue procedure with Judge/Trustee Assignment to the bankruptcy case.
  14. Continue to file one of the following applications (for Individual cases only), if applicable.
 

Quick Note

Ensure that the Debtor's TXT file contains the complete SSN. The ECF system will automatically redact the number on the case docket.

The Individual Petition PDF file MUST have the redacted SSN. If not it will appear on the docket, if one opens the PDF file. For individual (consumer) cases, the Ch 7 Statement of Current Monthly Income:122A-1, 122A-1Supp (if required), and Means Test Calculation 122A-2 (if required) or the Ch 11 Statement of Current Monthly Income 122B or the Ch 13 Statement of Current Monthly Income & Calculation of Commitment Period  122C-1 and Calculation of Disposable Income 122C-2 (if required) must be included in the petition.

Creditor TXT file must be in proper mailing format. This file is used to send out court notices.

Certificate of Credit Counseling is only required for individual cases.

Declaration Re: Electronic Filing MUST be filed with a scanned image of original signature.

Statement of Social Security Number may be filed with either  "/s/ debtor name" or a scanned image of the original signature on the signature line(s).

Documentation supplied by the debtor to support the petition such as the Valuation Attachment to Ch 13 Plan and Tax documents must be routed to the case trustee via  Route Documents to Trustee and NOT attached to the Petition.
