This document event is specifically for Bankruptcy cases and only for generic motions not provided on the pick list.   Before filing under this ~Generic Motion~ document event, search for type of motion provided in the motion category (ie Extend Time, Shorten Time, Dismiss Case etc).

If a Notice of Motion or Request for Hearing accompanies this Motion, file this Motion prior to the Notice.  The Notice (or Request for Hearing) must be filed under its own document event and referred (linked) to this Motion.

  1. Select Bankruptcy menu.
  2. Select Motions/Applications.
  3. Ensure correct case name and number match the document you are filing.
  4. Select party filer.
    • Party filer not listed, Add/Create New Party.
  5. Select Document Event: ~Generic~ Motion.
  6. Browse, verify and attach the document (PDF file).
    • Attach supportive documents, if applicable.
  7. Submit.
  8. Select Application or Motion.
  9. Check box at Refer to existing event(s), if applicable.
  10. Is this a First Day Motion?
    • Select yes or no
  11. Modify text to add pertinent information, such as title of motion/application or Amended, if applicable.
  12. Verify final docket text before submitting onto case docket.
  13. Print the Notice of Electronic Filing. It's your receipt.
  14. Continue with filing the Notice or Request for Hearing or uploading an order, if applicable.
